It is back to the typical post time for qball.org. I am sure some of the readers (2) were thrown off by the previous posts time, but since all the authors of this wonderful site have gone AWOL, mixing it up is the only temporary fix we know. Bare with us.
On top of that, the Click of the Week is a plain, simple click. Since qball.org was invited to this click, we gave it a shot and have been somewhat impressed with this network. The click is called, Orkut, simply from the name you can tell what it is right? Of course you can't. This click is a little network that friends meet friends who meet their friends. As some would say, an "online community."
The basics behind this click is to provide a location to keep in touch with friends, acquaintances, and even enemies. You can upload pictures, give a profile of yourself, and leave messages with your friends. The interface is simple and clean, but it doesn't take advantage of the entire window. Two things make Orkut stand out. One, there are plenty of topic communities which you can join and discuss that topic, just like the good ol' newsgroups. We haven't come across a dedicated qball.org forum, but we are sure this will pop up sooner or later. The other interesting feature is the ability to secretly rank your friends trusty, cool, and sexy. Something that keeps you busy for a good three or four minutes.
Other than that, Orkut is no different than the thousand of forums out there with a mass of members. Sometimes it seems like Orkut members are just trying to get the highest number of "friends." Also, the participation is quite intermittent, so response from others takes time. There does seem to be a large amount of Brazilians roaming around Orkut with the ability to confuse us English only speakers. If you are not a local from Brazil, I say try to get quite a bit of your "friends" to join right away and the use for this Click of the Week will turn out to be a good find. Just let us know when the qball.org fan forum begins, we'll make our guess appearances and posts to please the crowds.
UPDATE: As our reader so rudely commented on, it appears that not anyone can join (except Brazilians) unless you are invited. Therefore, qball.org readers get first bids on receiving an invitation from us to become part of this so-so "online community."

You missed one important detail about your click of the week....that you can't join unless you are invited by a member. Sorta like Gmail. I never knew I had so much power.
