Fly in comfort

What a long, eventful weekend. We hope all of qball.org's readers enjoyed an extra long weekend, right? No? No one else called in sick to enjoy the wonderful San Diego weather? Well, it is the summer, so everyone should be planning on summer vacations. And to continue our theme of vacation tips (or lack of a theme) here is the Click of the Week.

qball.org

This click came across our desk and we found it to be very useful. SeatGuru.com is a must to help plan the worst part of traveling, flying on a airplane. Most people think that you have three choices when it comes to seats on an airplane:

  • aisle
  • window
  • First Class
  • (No one sits in the middle!)

Thankfully, SeatGuru.com provides anyone with tons more information on seating in planes.

SeatGuru breaks down the sitting assignments by airlines, and then by the type of plane one would be flying in. If you are unsure which massive flying gas tank you are inside of, be sure to read SeatGuru's FAQ. This will help anyone find the related information, on how to obtain your plane's type, the pitch of a seat, and even upcoming airlines this click is trying to include.

Once the type of plane is determined, one can view an easy color coded seat chart of the plane. Various bits of info are included such as what type of entertainment to expect and / or plug-in ports. Also, moving a mouse over each seat shows a brief description of why it is considered worse or better than the normal economy cramped seat. We prefer the seats with the lavatory wall behind it, but others find it a poor seat.

What makes this click a very useful tool is that it allows readers feedback and comments. So, if others find the lavatory seat to be not so poor (wink wink) then they can let SeatGuru know about it. Every few weeks, SeatGuru evaluates the comments and adjust their information accordingly. We wonder if they take all comments seriously? Everyone must know that "Any seat marked 16B is haunted by an ancient Aztec Indian," right? Well, start spreading the word!
