Ugh, what a difficult day. We spent too much time today looking for a Click of the Week to blow everyone away after the long weekend. Instead we took one of the things we were saving for later, but it appears later has become now...which was then...? (Spaceballs ripoff).
Today's click is a simple tool that allows you to save all of those clicks you come across while cruising the internet. At del.icio.us anyone can create, add, and save their bookmarks. It is fairly simple to use, just create a profile, and then del.icio.us gives you two options to begin adding sites to your online bookmark listing. One option is to have a shortcut that you click to add the site when you choose to, or you can have a shortcut that throws a popup to add the site to your bookmark list.
What's so neat about this? Don't we all have these so called bookmarks in our browsers? Simple answer: yes. Long answer: yes, but it's different. del.icio.us gives you some flexibility to rename the bookmarks, categorize them, and tag them appropriately. We should also point out the obvious; that this is all on the internet, you can access these bookmarks from any system, you just have to remember the word 'delicious' and the proper placing of the periods.
The main page of del.icio.us lists the most recently added bookmarks, (usually updates by the second). Other neat features include viewing who might be adding a similar bookmark to yours, breaking down bookmarks in particular tags and categories to find something, and reviewing most popular bookmarks added that day (always counting the additions). The author does state that this is in the "pre-pre alpha" state, but we feel the features already working are great.
Finally, this click has the every growing in popularity ability to provide an RSS feed. Something we have been meaning to get working on this site since we finally figured it out on one of our other nonsense filled sites. We planned to show a listing of some clicks everyone would enjoy. However, in the meantime, due to our laziness, one final feature of delicious is the ability to see the bookmarks of others. We want to take this moment to let our readers into qball.org's world. Take a glance at qball's bookmarks to see some of our interests. Prepared to be shocked, stunned, and most likely bored within 2 minutes.
