Ok, for any new readers visiting qball.org let us catch you on how we operate with headline news. Say some big news story makes the headlines, a few days later, when everyone already knows about it, qball.org decides to put it on their site. Only after a few more days do we finally take action and place reference to a news story that is at least a week old.
Now that everyone has caught up with our "Breaking News" process, lets get to our breaking news. Late last week, the smart, funny, and well-spoken Jon Stewart from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart made an appearance on CNN's Crossfire. He wasn't there to do shtick, but to confront the show and media in general.
The show turned out to be Mr. Stewart trying to get his point across to the two orators of the show. There were quite a few barbs back and forth that got more intense as the show went on. Jon Stewart was outsmarting them with not only funny comebacks, but quite relevant as well. Most of the time Baldy and Bowtie tried to change the subject as quickly as possible. Thankfully, the power of the internet stops us from describing the entire show in our own words. We are able to provide some good clicks to catch the show as well as Jon Stewart's thoughts the next day on The Daily Show.
So head on over to IFILM to catch both of the clips. The first clip is Jon Stewart's brutal exchange on CNN's Crossfire. The other clip at IFILM is Jon Stewart back on Comedy Central reminiscing about his Crossfire appearance. And for those caught somewhere that video is not allowed or useless, CNN has posted a transcript of their show. It isn't the same as the video, but you can get the gist of the beating Jon Stewart gives the show and their moderators. Definitely find some time to catch the video clips over at IFILM to see the intensity of this battle of words.
Just a few tips when trying to view the clips at IFILM. Granted no one will really understand these tips until trying themselves over at IFILM, but we are hoping some will listen before trying. First, make sure you have either QuickTime, Windows Media Player, or RealPlayer. IFILM will let you choose one of those to play any clip they have. Our advice, stay away from RealPlayer, it froze a few times on us and we finally decided upon Windows Media Player. As for the specific Jon Stewart clips. The Crossfire confrontation lasts about 13 minutes, and most of it is Jon trying to explain himself to two boobs not listening. The clip of Jon Stewart's remarks on the Daily Show last only about two and a half minutes - with a little more humor - but he still gets his point across and doesn't back down. Very interesting headline news, even if it was over a week ago.
There is no such thing as society....There are individual men and women, and there are families. And no government can do anything except through people, and people must look to themselves first. by free online poker
