I do not have enough time to try the downloads that I want to for my four and a half readers. However, I believe I could repeat a few of them if it wasn't for my fancy archive listing. Anyways, while looking for this week download, I almost didn't hear it slapping me in the face. Winamp is one of the original mp3 players. It has gone through some changes in management and design, but their newest version, 5.01, is back to basics. What is great about Winamp is the functionality of their media library, and control you have organizing and searching for your files. Also included with the newest version is the usual EL-VIS (beat detecting psychedelic graphics) and a quick browser. I have always enjoyed the varying skins available. Recently, there have been some great skins that are quite different and unique. All in all, if you are listening to mp3's, which I hope you are, then getting Winamp is just the next step to listen in style. (What normal, hip reviewers put in their comments). It's the skins the keep me coming back to Winamp.
